New Belgium and Upright Brewing Tasting

FullSizeRenderOn Wednesday the 23rd of September, 16 Tons Taphouse will be offering tastings of two new bottled beers.

The first will be New Belgium’s 2014 Le Terroir.  This is part of their Lips of Faith series and is a dry-hopped sour ale.  Le Terroir is a French term meaning ‘Of the Earth.’ and is used to reference the environmental conditional that affect the brew. Mainly, the wooden barrels they use to age the sour beer in varying temperatures, humidity and vibrations.

Second, we will have tastes of Upright Brewing’s Saison du Blodget.  This is a hoppy, barrel-aged saison that is the result of the barrel-aging of Upright’s Five farmhouse pale ale.  It spent 7 months in the barrel which added peach aromatics to the beer.

We will be pouring 4 oz. pours of each for $5 at the Taphouse so come on in to give these two barrel-aged beers a try.
