At 8pm on Thursday October 15th, 16 Tons Cafe at 2864 Willamette hosts its tenth edition of CHEESE W ARS.
Cheese Wars is a food-pairing showdown between two ancient beverages. We will feature 5 courses of carefully selected cheese. Each cheese course will be paired with a beer and a wine. Keenan Delehanty from Firestone Walker will choose and present the beers. Mark Vlossak from St. Innocent Winery will choose and present the wines. Cheese Wars past participants have included Ninkasi, Oakshire, King Estate, Brooks Winery, Upright Brewing, The Commons Brewery, Breakside Brewery, Oregon Wine Lab and other notable producers. Award winning artisan cheeses have been sourced from Oregon, Washington, France, England, and Italy.
Which pairings work best only attendees can decide. Cheese Wars is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the processes of making beer, wine, and cheese. This is a fun and lively sit down affair! Tickets are limited. Advance tickets are $25 and include all tasting and food (artisan cheese and bread). Tickets available at either 16 Tons location or online at http://cheesewars10.brownpapertickets.com. Start time is 8pm. Cheese Wars runs for approximately 2 hours.

About St. Innocent Winery: St. Innocent was founded in 1988 by Mark Vlossak who continues to be our winemaker and President. We produce small lots of handmade, vineyard-designated wine from some of the best sites in the Willamette Valley. Since our founding, we have grown from 600 cases that first year to our current production of 8-10,000 cases, yet each wine is still handcrafted in the very same manner.
In 2006, 18 years after St. Innocent was founded, we designed and constructed our facility at Zenith Vineyard. For more information, visit http://www.stinnocentwine.com/
